This course covers the battery service tasks from the ASE A6 (Electrical/Electronic Systems) certification area. Each task below maps to the modules where it is taught, practiced, and assessed. Module 1 provides the foundational knowledge required to perform all tasks.

Foundation Module

FOUNDATION Battery Construction, Types & Ratings

Covered in Module 1 — Not a standalone ASE task, but required knowledge for all tasks below. Covers component identification, flooded vs AGM vs gel, BCI group size, CCA, CA, RC, Ah ratings.

ASE A6 Battery Service Tasks

TASK 1 Perform battery state-of-charge test; determine necessary action

TASK 2 Perform battery capacity test; determine necessary action

TASK 3 Charge a battery using slow or fast charge method; determine necessary action
